Job Description

Adams & Martin Group is seeking an Intellectual Property Legal Assistant to join a busy law firm. This is a direct hire opportunity with a fully onsite work model.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general legal, administrative, and intellectual property (IP) support to attorneys, clients, and staff

  • Maintain and organize legal files, documents, and records (paper and electronic)

  • Track and monitor patent/trademark prosecution deadlines and case statuses

  • Draft, proofread, and process correspondence, reports, and agendas

  • Coordinate incoming/outgoing mail, communications, and case updates

  • Manage calendars, deadlines, client communications, and attorney phone lines

  • Assist with client intake, file transfers, billing, invoicing, and engagement letters

  • Support quality assurance of filings and correspondence with the USPTO and foreign offices

  • Conduct basic research, generate case reports, and assist with business development tasks

  • Handle travel arrangements, expense reports, and administrative requests

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 5+ year of experience supporting attorneys in Intellectual Property (patents & trademarks)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems (iManage experience a plus).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
